I have often wondered what the films of the Brothers Quay mean. Or more precisely, if they have any meaning at all. Thanks to the agreeable extras included with this DVD state I am finally starting to come by an inkling. However, the main attraction of this residence are the films themselves, which are presented in graceful, pristine condition. I have viewed these films on an earlier DVD collection, but the quality of “Phantom Museums” blows it away! “Phantom Museums” actually includes a couple films I have not seen before! A must for fans!

There has been noteworthy written about the outrageous disc that marred the release of this DVD. I received my copy from Amazon a couple of days ago and the race jam has been fixed.
The two concerts represented on this DVD have been filmed in murky and white, and as the result the video isn’t what one would hope. That said, there is a dearth of video material for Renaissance so anything is welcome. And the best piece is that the two concerts are actually of the band… they were shot from the stage and give you an up-close and personal concept of the group in action. There isn’t any of that vertigo-inducing MTV editing that seems to be so considerable allotment and parcel of many current concert vids.
I give this a positive five stars. The video isn’t perfect and the audio isn’t aesthetic, but the music represents two really ample periods of Renaissance output.
If you’re a fan, I highly recommend it!

This film has received more poor reviews than any other panic movie I have ever read about, and after seeing it I can’t even inaugurate to understand why! Based on the H.P. Lovecraft short fable of the same title, THE DUNWICH Fear follows warlock Wilbur Whatley’s desperate quest to restore his fiendish family to their rightful situation as rulers of the universe. However, there are two crucial factors needed in carrying out this aroused conception. Firstly and foremost, Whatley must locate a copy of the Necronomicon, an primitive book of inappropriate spells, and the sacrifice of a pure, but serene sexually pleasing female(that’s where blooming college co-ed Sandra Dee figures into the fable) . As the wild-eyed Whatley, Dean Stockwell is clearly having a ball, and was obviously warming up for his hammy role in David Lynch’s sci-fi opus DUNE. Ed Begley, in his final film role, also seems to be enjoying himself as Stockwell’s chief Nemesis, Dr. Armitadge. However, the best and most convincing performance by far is given by attractive young Sandra Dee(of GIDGET fame) who makes an effective Weep QUEEN debut. This film has received many negative notices, but it’s not awful at all, even by today’s standards. The film was made on a noticeably low-budget, but manages to obtain some proper scares and has a menacing air of creepy, Gothic atmosphere throughout. Furthermore, this movie is one of the better attempts to acquire literary mastermind H.P. Lovecraft on celluloid. If the film seems rather long(it’s 90 minutes), remember that Lovecraft’s unusual sage was only about 35-40 pages long. For the most piece, the screenwriters have added some genuinely effective touches to flesh out the sage. In my idea, the film is fairly successful at sustaining the viewer’s interest for most of its 90 minutes, and most importantly, director Daniel Haller has successfully captured the mood and flavor of Lovecraft’s unique record. Also, fans of the ragged Dim SHADOWS/NIGHT GALLERY series will be joyful by this minute flick which is similar in tone and style to those early ’70’s TV alarm classics.
I opinion this movie ruled. Okay, maybe it strayed from the chronicle a bit, by taking a nine-foot colossal alien freak and turning him into Dean Stockwell, and by adding a very hot Sandra Dee, but they at least tried. This is the only instance of movie exploitation, I believe, that wouldn’t have cause H.P. Lovecraft to roll over in his grave. And maybe Wilbur’s star-spawned twin brother was a puny goofy, but I view it had that kind of rubber-suit-monster Night Stalker charm. Overall, the movie had a kind of narcotic gloss that aided well in the suspension of disbelief. I recommend this movie highly—both to Lovecraft fans and to ordinary dread buffs. It’s cold, and even if this movie did pain Sandra Dee’s career, she was hot. After all, monsters, even the slimy ones from outer spot, need esteem too. So arrive on, guys, have a heart.

An overlooked, entertaining drama that is essential for its young rising stars (Timothy Hutton, Sean Penn, Tom Waft) and also its prescience, as famed by another commentator here, although I believe that none of the Amazon reviewers to date has hit the nail on the head with “Taps” and its overarching theme.

The movie begins fairly conventionally, with the teenage military cadets and their frail institution shown to the viewer to be lawful, virtuous, and beefy of sound accurate values. The youths may be a bit immature at times, and callow, but their earnestness and sincerity are shown as admirable and their devotion to their gruff, benevolent commandant (George C. Scott, perfectly cast) is unquestioned. You can literally hear the Sousa marches playing in the background. But honest when you reflect you’re in for a predictable, one-sided, nattily uniformed prep school movie preaching the military virtues, the state takes a darker twist and we learn that appearances can be very deceiving. Faced with the closing of the school, the boys turn renegade, immediately betraying their duty of obedience in the emotions of the moment. While sure, bold, and motivated by principle, they are at the same time defying right authority and behaving unwisely. Recognition of this causes the relationships and trust among the cadets to splinter tragically. Through the words of Hutton’s career soldier father — a fabulous supporting performance, with the hard, practical professional tearing down the cadets’ naivete — we are presented a recount of Scott’s commandant that does not fit the boys’ hero-worshipful image. And then the national guardsman who arrives to waste the armed takeover of the school acts as Hutton’s conscience, pointing out to him how far from the path of honor he has truly strayed.
Hutton’s friends — the pragmatic Penn, who wants to kill the conflict peacefully, and the belligerent Flit, who lusts for a bloody showdown — tug him in two directions and he manages to antagonize both of them, furthering his sense of isolation and failure. Finally, the accidental but predictable death of an extremely young cadet — no more than a boy — is lain at Hutton’s feet, and is more than he can possess. There is no glory or purpose in this death — “You honest contemplate about what a titanic limited kid he was, and how remarkable you’re gonna miss him,” Hutton is forced to answer, in the movie’s great statement: that high-flown rhetoric about dying for honor and country isn’t enough. “There must have been something more that we weren’t taught,” he tearfully reflects. Subtly,”Taps” has moved away from preaching the sanitary hagiography of “Dulce et decorum est / pro Patria mori” to address a greater truth — that without wisdom, military virtues and sacrifices are objective so powerful posturing and lead only to raze and misery. It was a mettlesome statement to effect support when this film was made and an even more famous misfortune in 2005. The final shots — a grieving Penn and the surviving cadets slowly fading into the mist, then an abrupt sever to a reprise of the triumphant military review sequence from earlier in the movie (is this supposed to be a vision of Hutton’s entrance into Valhalla? ) — starkly hammer this point home.

A pretty, thoughtful movie that is sympathetic to all its characters but also does not skittish away from condemning their blindness. As an ROTC alumni myself (at one stage of my life I would have loved to aid a school like this, and allotment of me quiet would), I salute it.
TAPS was filmed at the Valley Forge Military Academy in Wayne, Pennsylvania, where I was a cadet and graduate befriend in the early 70’s. As alumni, we were notified of the filming that would be taking plot and so I got to ogle some of the action going on. Naturally, I looked forward to the movie coming out and I was rewarded with a stunning, suspenseful action drama. Distinct scenes, like the parade formations, the formals, and the in-barracks fooling around brought me abet to my cadet years. Even the run-ins with the “townies” rang honest, although it never came to the brandishing of weapons. This is a radiant thriller and an opportunity to stare a cast of both ancient actors and future-stars do.

Spurred on by the urgency that England is switching over to the Euro in a few days (not gonna happen,) freckle-faced Damien and his brother, Anthony, have to judge hasty. Damien feels the money came from God and therefore should be conventional to succor the less fortunate. Anthony feels like they *are* the less fortunate and should utilize it to serve themselves. Damien is also helped by peculiar visions of saints who counsel him. Meanwhile, Anthony is out pricing accurate estate.
Of course, tossing money on unsuspecting children is not really God’s style, as the boys’ father states. The money was actually tossed by a bank robber who wants it serve at any cost.

This is a fun yet profound film that accurately shows greed, kindness, faith, and selfishness all resulting from the same event. The viewer is left with a overjoyed feeling and even a few introspective questions like, “What would I do if the same thing happened to me? ”

Maverick British Director Danny Boyle has really outdone himself with Millions, an absolutely terrific, exact, and intrinsically spiritual family film about money, faith, the power of imagination, and the unquestionable ability to have that everything is going to turn out all upright in the extinguish. Boyle uses his trademark visual flair to create a gorgeously heartfelt and emotionally heavenly children’s movie that is all about being grand, sometimes being dreadful, and often being downright paralyzed.
Set in and around a modern suburban housing development in Northern England, the tale centers on lonesome, motherless spiritually receptive seven-year-old Damian (Alex Etel, making a sensational film debut), his hardheaded 9-year-old brother Anthony (Lewis McGibbon), and their adoring, loving father, Ronnie (James Nesbitt) . The film begins as Damian, Anthony, and Ronnie are spicy to a unusual house because their stale home is burly of memories, where once upon a time they lived with a loving wife and mother.
Recently deceased, the missing woman hangs over this woeful threesome, and her absence shapes their days and nights. They perceive this depart as a unique commence, a blueprint to squash the ghosts of the past, while also looking forward to a happier and more comfortable future. Anthony is the financially savvier of the two boys – consumer orientated and realistic, he’s accurate up with the latest exchange rates, as the Country is objective about to convert to Euros. But the current owners of the money are hot on the crawl and things commence to come by very ghastly for Damien when a leather-jacketed, malevolent looking man turns up demanding that the boy to hand the money help.
Fast paced and visually glowing, the movie jumps along from scene to scene catching the viewer and snappy reeling us in. With a cute face that is splashed with freckles, Damien is a gravely shapely child, who believes he’s on speaking terms with the saints (they regularly appear with translucent halos on their heads) . The young actor brings to the role the curious ethereality of those children who never fit in, but curl into their bear private worlds, giggling at jokes no one else hears.
Millions has plenty of chronicle for both adults and children to be pleased and its sense of fun is totally infectious. The characters are all absolutely endearing and fine to perceive, including a sweetheart for Ronnie, a quirky group of Latter-day Saints, a bunch of articulate robbers, an eccentric local police officer, a boogeyman, and of course all the nomadic martyrs. Mr. Boyle uses all manner of savory tricks to reveal us what his characters see; more poignantly, he also shows us what Damien sees, and it’s a world where absurdity is an everyday occurrence and what takes places inside a young boy’s head fights for shelf status with what’s happening in the outside world. I first saw this movie as a student decades ago, and now seeing it all these years later on DVD, I’m amazed how well it holds up. It’s a lesson in what can be done on the conceal with so little; there’s no budget here, largely amateur actors and a very simple situation. It’s about an unemployed man, who gets a job offer that requires a bike, the sacrifice his family must acquire to collect his bike out of hock, and what happens when the bike is stolen on the job. It’s successful because I assume the writers and director focus on some universal truths–about human nature, savor, pride, survival and–yes–family values. It’s disheartening to read some reviews that say: “I was bored,” “It wasn’t appealing enough,” or “Enough with the sunless & white.” It’s also disheartening to gaze reviews from people with no view of this film’s historical context. The poverty of post-WWII Europe produced a revolution in cinema, and this movie was one that redefined the medium’s possibilities. I can’t imagine someone not being moved by the scrape faced by the lead character in this film. I do regret that this movie has not gotten a chunky “Criterion Collection” restoration, and I would have liked more “extras” on the DVD–like background information on the time the director and the Italian neo-realist movement. BTW, the more true translation of the Italian title is “Bicycle Thieves,” which (after you look the movie) you must agree is more appropriate.

“Bicycle Thieves” (as it is wisely retranslated from the Italian for this modern Criterion release) is one of the few “perfect films” — by which I mean a film that is in its possess design impartial as it should be, lacking nothing, the kind of film where even apparent missteps tend to contribute indelibly to the overall impression of a film in which nothing could have been changed without damaging the film. Assume, for example, the scenario that instead of an unknown day laborer in the role of Antonio, de Sica had gone with David Selznick’s suggestion of Cary Grant (which was a condition for the film getting funded through American studios) . I have no doubt that this would have remained an intriguing film, and that Grant would have done an admirable job — but it would have been a totally different film and would have lost the fragility and vulnerability and delicacy (combined with hardness and objectivity) that perform this film so precious. We can all be grateful that De Sica chose to wait for an Italian investor who allowed him to build the film the arrangement he and Zappatini had planned.
Without giving away anything of the site, I will say that the conclusion of the film is one of the most great I have seen — and carries an emotional weight that is earned rather than manipulated, and that can be compared only to a very few films: Chaplin’s City Lights and Kiarostami’s Close-up are the only films that reach to mind. De Sica strikes a very elegant balance between realistic depiction of the harsh realities of life in postwar Rome, and a humanistic vison of the resourcefulness of individuals in the face of hopelessness and the enduring power of empathy, forgiveness, and admire.

The film looks better than ever on this original Criterion edition — it seemed to me that a few shots were a bit washed out but I can only consume that is due to the condition of the available negatives. Spots and dust and other imperfections seem to have been removed entirely, and the subtitles are quite helpful and easy to read. The film alone would gain this space an necessary one, but the booklet (containing some beneficial essays, including a very illuminating essay by Andre Bazin) and attached documentaries (one on neorealsm, one on screenwriter Zappatini, and one on De Sica) earn this dwelling as a whole like a master course on one of the undisputed masterpieces of cinema.

Finally a film version that follows the steady book. This movie inspired me to re-read the unusual. Blooming filming and challenging. The only fragment that threw me was the teenage actress in dwelling of the 7 1/2 yr-old character, though the actress does a very qualified job. My 7 1/2 yr-old son also enjoyed the film; he was glued to the residence for the entire 86 minutes (perhaps because we read Through the Looking-Glass to him last year) . However, my 4 yr-old daughter was not alive to in the least. This is not a “Disney” production, or even an American film, so don’t demand the dumbed-down pleasing simplicity that we have been spoon-fed for so long. A very toothsome film for an begin mind.
For the person who didnt like that it didnt accomplish sense to them, welcome to the idea of nonsense (”The dialogue is filled with non sequiturs” That is Lewis Carrolls text you are commenting on not this movie READ THE BOOK!)

I give this version top marks as it is the only version ive seen that is so faithful to Lewis Carrolls text. The nonsensical situations and conversations work perfectly without any actor having to go overboard with silliness. Many versions annoy me as the actors feel that have to act as daft and ‘mad, totally mad’ as they can. No need! the material is uncommon enough. This version feels weirder as a result cos the actors play it down a bit and act as if everything is as it should be when it clearly isnt.
The Alice stories were not all cheerful ecstatic bouncy laughable madness. Specifically, Through the Looking Glass has a black edge to the insanity. And no songs is quite refreshing.

Released in 1984 Children of the Corn is based off a short fable of the same name written by Stephen King; Children of the Corn was first published in 1977 in Penthouse and than later in allotment of King’s short memoir collection Night Shift.
Children of the Corn wasn’t one of King’s better stories in my idea, but it wasn’t abominable or anything. It was an delightful portion, but in the extinguish nothing special so I mutter it’s only fitting the movie adaptation ends up being nothing special as well. Some people say King’s work isn’t grand well for film due to his writing style. I have to disagree with that; I judge most of King’s work is perfectly top-notch for film, but for the most allotment it seems many haven’t translated well on film. King’s work while sometimes violent is almost always character driven and that is what makes his novels and short stories work so well. In general fright is always about believing the impossible and that works best when the characters are well developed.
The fact Stephen King has created such pleasurable characters is the reason why his work has excelled; it’s not easy basing a movie off of a book. You have the groundwork already done, but a lot of character development often gets lost and some of King’s work turned into films have been duds like The Dim Half or average at best like Desperation, but The Tedious Zone and Carrie were two prime examples of how well King’s work can translate onto film. With Children of the Corn I don’t mediate the epic was superb enough to be made into a 90-minute film. If anything I reflect this would have worked better as a short film or even an episode of a TV series. Again that’s not to say the short record was abominable or anything. It was scrumptious, but not one of King’s stronger stories.
The screenplay by George Goldsmith was rather sub-par filled with some humorous dialogue, but works well due to the silliness. The one site I do feel the screenplay improved upon the short account were with the lead characters of Burt played by Peter Horton and Vicky played by Linda Hamilton. Like I said earlier Stephen King’s strong suit are his characters, but Burt and Vicky weren’t among his best. I personally found them rather annoying and mostly un-likeable and here in the film version I concept they were a lot more likeable. The short anecdote was 29-pages and the film runs at 90-minutes so obviously changes will be made; the changes made by George Goldsmith never improve on the current epic, but I wouldn’t say they were nefarious either.
The script by Goldsmith as stated before is filled with some comic dialogue and overall Children of the Corn is poorly written, but in the terrible writing it does actually produce it fun. There is very exiguous character development and the state isn’t really expanded on all that remarkable, but it works well due to the terrible writing and makes it campy fun. Like I said before the only proper improvement for me was the main characters; I found Burt and Vicky more likeable in the film than the short memoir and in the yarn they exhaust most of their time arguing where as here in the film their relationship is serene strong. My biggest complaint with the script though is the ending; the ending isn’t unlit like the short chronicle and I personally felt was a cop out.
Fritz Kiersch makes his directorial debut and I’ll give him credit due to the fact Children of the Corn had a very vulgar budget, which shows at times, but doesn’t ogle any cheaper than other shameful budget flicks of the same era. But besides making a decent looking film on a rude budget he doesn’t find grand true besides that, which some limitations are due to the script though. The pacing isn’t all that dreadful, but it’s never really racy either; Fritz Kiersch stated that when it came to the violence he wanted it more suggested than shown to do something like Alfred Hitchcock former to do. Most of the violence is objective that suggested; we never stare anything, but some blood splatter, which would be ok in a better movie. No offense to Fritz Kiersch, but he isn’t Hitchcock and shouldn’t attempt to do what he did. Children of the Corn is a movie that really could have passe a lot more gore.
Some scenes are quite humorous and over the top that it can be hard to support a straight face while watching it, but some of that can also be blamed on the very dreadful acting from most of the cast. There is very puny in the arrangement of suspense and tension, but to Fritz Kiersch credit he does at least attempt it. Some scenes with Burt and Vicky going around the town of Gatlin can be semi creepy, which is more to do with the place than directing, but these scenes at least work some what decently, but another scrape was the whole film was shot in the daytime except the final act and some of these scenes would have worked slightly better with a nighttime shoot.
The acting was rather unpleasant with the exception of Peter Horton and Linda Hamilton who give fine performances despite the conventional script; Courtney Gaines ended up becoming a solid actor, but here he wasn’t very worthy and does add to the whole so awful its reliable vibe, which can partly be blamed on the funny things he has to say. I state it isn’t easy to sound splendid with the idiotic lines he has, but Gaines has improved over the years. John Franklin as Isaac didn’t glowing distinguished better; he is sort of creepy, but his performance was the icing on the cake for the so dreadful it’s worthy.
The rest of the cast range from awful to below average; one of my problems with the short account and film was I unprejudiced couldn’t fully seize into the notion, but with such musty acting it doesn’t exactly serve matters. Horton and Hamilton both work well together and manage to sell some really funny stuff.
My review for Children of the Corn may not sound reliable, but the movie really wasn’t very favorable, but it is an appetizing movie in how awful it was. The whole so unpleasant its well-behaved vibe is on elephantine enact and despite how awful the film was it does work due to that and is palatable, but you can easily rep movies on the same level far more scrumptious. Amazingly there were several sequels made I don’t assume the modern was top-notch enough to warrant any (or if anything as many) and while I haven’t seen all of them of the ones I’ve seen this is probably the best of the bunch, which is actually quite scary.
The Blu-ray release is top notch; Anchor Bay delivers a solid transfer, but obviously don’t quiz a pristine print. Due to the age of the film anything less than a chunky re-master there is only so splendid the narrate can explore. But the transfer is very suited and there is some grain to be found and some dirt, but Anchor Bay delivers an edifying transfer. There are also some unusual features that screen the slack the scenes and they are all informative; Even though the movie is delicious in the so awful its apt level the disc is far better than maybe the movie deserved.

Saw this when it was in theaters, and was pleasantly surprised it did not disappoint. What assign this film over the top was the fine casting; the characters of Biggie, Faith Evans, Lil Kim, and even Tupac and Voletta Wallace (played by Angela Bassett) made this a believable memoir of what happened between these intersecting lives that left such a price on musical history, and ultimately, a tragedy. You really felt for young Christopher as he grew up in the 80’s admiring the rising hip hop stars of the day, and perfecting his rhyming skills on the street, while trying to avoid the perils of drugs and crime. What I liked most about this film was the humanity they brought to his character, making him seem like more of a right person than a musical icon. He wasn’t perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but he was trying to be a noble person, no matter what obstacles life threw in his diagram. Ultimately this is a memoir of a flawed individual, as we all are, who was lucky enough to raise himself out of the conditions he found himself in, and tried to develop his designate on history, which ultimately, he did.
I was cheerful when I first heard they were making a film about the life of rapper Christopher “Biggie” Wallace. I’m a gigantic fan of his music, and I opinion a biography about the distinguished rapper was long overdue. However, I don’t reflect the film reached its plump potential in essence. It could’ve been something spacious, but it settled for mediocrity instead.

Director George Tillman uses lots of flashy, glossy shots and camera angles for each scene. Biggie was a man who grew up as a drug dealer and hustler. Nothing about his life growing up was glamorous or flashy. So I expected a less glossy, more raw advance to the film; especially the scenes of him as a child in Brooklyn. The movie didn’t focus on Biggie’s trials and hardships as worthy as they could’ve. Instead they chose to exercise more time focusing on scenes with Biggie in clubs partying, on stage rapping, or in one scene…him getting happy by 2-3 different women. The film should’ve carve abet on these type of glamorous, luxury driven scenes, and focused more on the epic of Christopher Wallace.
Some of the casting was flawed as well. None of the actors looked like the people they portrayed. The worst was Derek Luke’s portrayal of Sean “Puffy” Combs. It’s unpleasant enough that the actor looked absolutely nothing like him. He was far more glorious. But it’s even worse that Puffy took his role as executive producer and made his character in the film out to be a saint. When all of the other characters in the film were smoking blunts, Puffy was in the befriend making beats. When Biggie felt uninspired or encountered any kind of distress, Puffy was the drawl of reason; offering inspirational advice and encouragement. Puffy wanted to study as innocent as possible in this film. And he dilapidated his power as executive producer to create that happen. We all know he wasn’t the saint he appeared to be in the movie. Who was he trying to fool?

I was a runt disappointed in Angela Bassett’s portrayal of Ms. Wallace as well. Bassett is a astonishing actress. This we all know. But she wasn’t quite good for this role. The thing that bothered me the most was the contrivance her Jamaican accent archaic in and out throughout the entire film. One itsy-bitsy it was note, the next it was completely gone. The genuine Ms. Wallace has a very strong, prominent Jamaican accent. Bassett struggled to bring that accent to life. She didn’t view or sound anything like the woman. And because of this, I didn’t net her role the slightest bit believable.
There were also countless area holes and unexplained storylines. How about some more information on Big’s father. He left when Biggie was young. And that’s really all we know and are told in the film. Who was Biggie’s first baby’s mother and how did they meet? We didn’t peruse her at all until she popped up and said she was pregnant, which literally seemed to near out of the blue with zero explaination or development. Some more development into the Biggie/Faith relationship would’ve been nice too. The film wants us to contain that Lil Kim was Biggie’s whore, while Faith was the woman he truly loved and wanted to resolve with. And yet, the movie features more scenes and development between Biggie and Lil Kim than Biggie and Faith. I found that weird.
For a movie that was nearly over 2 hours long–it left too many unexplained questions. Instead they spent most of the film showing Biggie on stage rapping. Which was okay every now and then, but these scenes would last up to 3-4 minutes, which was completely unecessary.
There are some great attributes to the film, however. I was pleasantly surprised by Naturi Naughton’s portrayal of Lil Kim. It was lawful on point; convincing and believable, especially during the scenes where she rapped Lil Kim’s lyrics. She had the slide, talk, and essence of Lil Kim down to perfection.
Jamal Woolard’s portrayal of Biggie was also a nice surprise. His explain was damn reach identical to the rapper’s. He also had his movement and mannerisms completely memorized, correct down to the heavy breathing. I concept it was a noble debut role for an unknown actor.
Overall, Renowned had its honorable points and dreadful points. Most of the casting was dreadful. The guy who played 2Pac was so improbable in the role it was almost humorous. The direction and cinematography for the film was flashy and over-glossed. It didn’t acquire the raw, gritty reach it should’ve. But at the same time, there were some actual gems in this film. Jamal and Naturi’s character portrayals were well-behaved surprises. But even they couldn’t build this movie from its numerous area holes and unexplained storylines.

The search for the Bay Harbor Butcher (and the ensuing cat and mouse game between Dexter and his colleagues) provides the overarching glue for Season Two. The middle episodes of the season feature the slippery Dexter trying to wiggle his method out of the bewitch of the investigation, lead by unique character FBI Special Agent Lundy (Keith Carradine), a professional everyman as unassuming as he is colorful. Lundy’s dedication and focus rival Dexter’s and explain a challenge for our hero even greater than his “game” with the Ice Truck Killer. Lundy’s ritual and disciplined life of cucumber sandwich lunches and Chopin interludes clears his mind, giving him almost clairvoyance into the heart of his target.

He’s approach a long plan from the unemotional science project of the first season. The extra dimensions to his character and a season-long station that amazingly trumps the edge-of-your-seat predicament of Season One’s Ice Truck Killer are only two reasons why the series has improved since its sublime debut season and now fills the void left by The Sopranos as television’s finest hour.
